I'm getting really fed up with myself. I'm so quiet it's unbelieveable. At home, I'm loud and talkative, so loud that the neighbours commented on my laughing that they hear every day... With friends, I'm myself and happy. But its in lessons/situations where I don't know the people that well, or if the people are loud themselves, I just fade away. And people assume it's because I lack a personality and/or don't care about anything but my work. I used to think I'd grow out of my shyness, but I'm still painfully shy. Is anyone else out there as shy as me? Do you also get 'quiet' on every teacher report? I used to be outgoing, until secondary school, but I got bullied a lot which is the only thing I think can have made the difference. I can't think what I can do to change? I'm getting too old to be shy! (18 in 2 weeks!).

This sounds almost exactly like me. Don't think there is anything wrong about being quiet... I still am extremely quiet.. but that's just me.. I don't get myself into trouble or anything.. I keep myself to myself. Just be how you want to be, there is nothing wrong about being shy or quiet... a lot of it goes with experiences in life. As you grow older you have to become more independant... and the more you do by yourself the less shy you become!

I had trouble being more outgoing, but now I approach complete STRANGERS and compliment them! LOL! Just try doing this once! It worked for me! My talkativeness is probably not such a good thing now, lol!
